Short (one line)
A turn-based adventure RPG about a disgraced sea-captain who learns the monsoon was never lost. It was pawned.
Medium (one paragraph)
After a hundred days without wind, Captain Sefa Marrow has lost her licence, her ship and her good name. With a stolen compass, a ghost who knows more than he says, and a crew of misfits, she sails a sun-baked archipelago to find out where the monsoon went, and learns it was never lost: it was pawned, and the creditor has come to collect. The Monsoon Ledger is a painted, turn-based adventure RPG with timed combat, no random battles, choices the world remembers, and three endings.
Long (three paragraphs)
For a hundred days the monsoon has failed. Ships rot at anchor, cisterns run dry, and the Navigators' Guild keeps its books closed. Captain Sefa Marrow falsifies the water log to keep her crew alive, and for that the Guild strikes her licence and hands her ship to her own first mate. When a pickpocket lifts a brass compass and its founder's ghost wakes at Sefa's touch, she sets out island to island to learn who took the wind, and discovers that nobody stole it. It was signed away, and a perfectly courteous creditor has come to collect.
The Monsoon Ledger is a turn-based adventure RPG told as a voyage. Fights are placed, never random, and every enemy shows its next move. Time your strikes and parries at the brass notch, break heavy blows before they land, and answer the Drowned Choir's requiem beat for beat. Explore walkable gouache scenes where every clue is written into your ledger. Each island, from the dye terraces of Kesari Shoals to the sinking archive of Ledgermire, asks a different question about who owes what to whom.
Your choices decide who gets the water, who you rescue and who you forgive, and they decide which of three endings you can reach: honour the debt, share it, or burn it. Timing assist, a Story difficulty, a colorblind palette and full rebinding mean anyone can finish the voyage. The game is free to play in your browser at game.moore-labs.com.
